A Few Things
You May Be Wondering.
Ask Us A QuestionWhat Evidence Guides Treatment?
Evidence varies by condition and treatment. For people aged 16 and over with low back pain, with or without sciatica, NICE advises considering manual therapy (hands-on treatment) only as part of a plan that includes exercise. We’ll discuss the relevant evidence, potential benefits, risks and alternatives with you. Improvement cannot be guaranteed.
Read NICE’s guidance on low back pain and sciatica (opens in a new tab) and NHS information on complementary therapies and safety (opens in a new tab).
Do I Need To Know What’s Causing My Pain?
No. Your first appointment is an opportunity to discuss what you’re experiencing and assess your symptoms. If further investigation or a referral is appropriate, we’ll explain the next step.
Will I Have Treatment At My First Appointment?
Treatment is not included in adult or child consultation fees and is charged separately. Whether treatment can take place at your first appointment depends on your assessment and whether it is appropriate. We’ll explain the costs, potential benefits, risks and alternatives, and obtain your consent before going ahead.
How Long Is A Consultation?
Adult consultations and child consultations for under-16s each last up to one hour. An adult consultation includes a full medical history, examination and proposed treatment plan.
How Can I Pay?
We accept card and cash. Treatment is charged separately from the consultation fee. See our appointment fees.

How Do I Book Follow-Up Treatment?

How Many Appointments Will I Need?
That depends on your assessment, goals and response to care. If treatment is appropriate, we’ll agree a plan with you and review whether it is helping. The number of visits will depend on your individual needs.
How Much Will My Appointment Cost?
See our appointment fees for adult consultations, consultations for children under 16, follow-up treatment and phone calls. We’ll confirm what your appointment includes before you book.
