Chiropractors assess and manage muscle and joint problems. Care may help with some forms of back and neck pain, depending on the cause. An assessment helps establish whether chiropractic care is appropriate or another healthcare professional would be better placed to help.

Some techniques produce a clicking sound, but care can also include gentle joint movements, soft-tissue work, exercises and advice. We’ll discuss suitable options and your preferences; you can decline any proposed treatment.

Your initial adult consultation lasts up to one hour and includes your medical history, an examination and a proposed treatment plan. We’ll also discuss what you would like to get back to doing. Treatment is charged separately.

I’ll explain your options, including relevant benefits and risks, and take time for your questions. Any treatment is agreed with you, and you can pause or stop at any time.

There’s no fixed number for everyone. Recommendations depend on your assessment, goals and response to care. We’ll review your progress together and adjust the plan or discuss referral if needed.
