Neck Pain.
Practical information about neck discomfort and choosing the right next step.

Understanding Neck Discomfort
Neck pain may follow an awkward sleeping position, prolonged time in one position or an injury. Many episodes settle within weeks, but symptoms alone do not establish the cause. Read the NHS overview.
Your Assessment And Options
We ask about your symptoms, work, activities and medical history, then assess the relevant movement and function. Where suitable, we discuss an individual plan involving exercise, advice and possible hands-on care. You can ask questions and decide which options you are comfortable with.
What Does Research Say?
A 2025 Cochrane review found that manual therapy combined with exercise may improve function, but may make little or no difference to pain compared with a sham treatment. Results were more favourable against no treatment, and certainty varied. These findings do not guarantee an individual result. Read the review.
Everyday Movement And Medical Advice
The NHS advises keeping the neck moving and avoiding long periods in one position. Do not drive or cycle if restricted movement makes it unsafe. See a GP if pain persists for a few weeks, you are worried, or you have symptoms such as pins and needles or a cold arm. Read the full NHS advice.
